Richards Bay Commend Fans After Undefeated Run Against “Big Three”

Richards Bay have thanked supporters for their positive conduct during three high-profile home matches at the uMhlathuze Sports Complex, where no incidents were reported.

The Natal Rich Boyz hosted Kaizer Chiefs in March, securing a 1–0 victory in a match that passed without any disturbances.

They followed this with Betway Premiership fixtures against Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns this month, both of which ended in draws.

Richards Bay held Pirates in an entertaining 2–2 draw on 10 April, before playing out a goalless stalemate against Sundowns at the same venue on Sunday.

“Richards Bay Football Club would like to thank all the supporters who have shown up in large numbers at uMhlathuze Stadium to support the club in all our matches, especially the big games against Kaizer Chiefs FC, Orlando Pirates FC, and Mamelodi Sundowns FC.

“We also commend the supporters for their good behaviour in all these matches, as no incidents have been reported. The large number of supporters who attended our match on Sunday, 27 April 2026, against Mamelodi Sundowns matched the support of our opponents.

“We also wish to thank King Cetshwayo District Municipality, the City of uMhlathuze, the South African Police Service, and our service providers—Blue Force Security, Mqapheli Supplies, Isolethu Entertainment, Afromed—as well as media houses for promoting and attending our matches. Your support is highly appreciated.”

Following the draw with Sundowns, Richards Bay sit 10th in the Betway Premiership standings with 31 points after 26 matches.

The club is aiming for a second successive top-eight finish.

The Natal Rich Boyz will return to action when they host Polokwane City at the uMhlathuze Sports Complex on 6 May.
