Back to Work: Richards Bay Return From Break To Assess Squad Fitness

Richards Bay has officially returned to camp to begin their pre-season preparations, with the club conducting mandatory medical evaluations for all returning and incoming squad members.

The Natal Rich Boyz kicked off their structural phase on Monday morning. The technical team subjected players to extensive physiological and medical check-ups to establish basic conditioning baselines before clearing them for high-intensity, off-field physical training.

A primary focus of these early assessments is monitoring player weight and metabolic conditioning.

The squad enjoyed a well-deserved off-season break lasting just over a month, following the conclusion of their demanding 2025/26 Betway Premiership campaign on 23 May.

Richards Bay fans will also see several fresh faces in the setup as the board looks to build a robust roster.

The club has aggressively bolstered its squad depth by dipping into the regional lower leagues, securing the highly-rated services of Siphamandla Gwele from Ravens FC, alongside commanding defender Thamsanqa Ndelu from Mkhambathi FC.

Both players will look to make an immediate impact during pre-season friendlies as they transition to top-flight professional football.
