It was a share of points when the Natal Rich Boyz met with Siwelele FC at the uMhlathuze Sports Stadium in Richards Bay on Friday evening, 23 January 2026. The match ended in a 1–1 draw after an entertaining affair between the two teams.
The Natal Rich Boyz began the match the worst way they could have wanted to, after the visiting team found the back of the net in the first minute of the game.
An early shot from Kgaogelo Sekgota took a difficult deflection which passed the man chosen to stand in between the posts on the night, Ian Otieno, making the score to be 1–0 in favour of the visitors.
The men mentored by Coach Papi Zothwane managed to neutralise the match after finding their rhythm and stability, creating a handful of opportunities to get back into the game.
The biggest chance for an equaliser came through Lundi Mahala who was one-on-one with the goalkeeper, after going around the goalkeeper only to shoot his effort on the near post.
The breakthrough came just a minute into added time towards the end of the first half, after Lundi Mahala was brought down in the box.
Moses Mthembu stepped up to make no mistake from the spot.
The second half came, with both teams testing each other’s defensive strength, none was able to find a successful answer on the scoreboard.
The match ended 1–1, both teams collecting a point each.
